Hi

I have set up two shares on the root of a drive through SharePoints. The system is 10.4.10. One of the shares is intended only for the client's personal files ("Personal"); one is the general server folder ("Server").

The system has one admin user ("admin") and I created one file-sharing only user through SharePoints ("generaluser"). "Generaluser" is a member of "staff" and "generaluser" groups. "Admin" is a member of "staff" and "admin".

The "Personal" share is set as owner r/w, group r/w, other no access.
The "Server" share is set as owner r/w, group r/w, other r/w.

When I connect to the server, either as Admin or Generaluser, I see both "Server" and "Personal". If, as generaluser, I try to mount "Personal", I get a mounted folder with a no-entry sign: so, I can attach to it, but I can't get into it.

Is there a way to simply hide this folder so that the generaluser user can't even see it when they're given the list of shares to attach to? I thought that setting "other - no access" would do this, but no.

thanks!

Matt

That used to be the behavior seen back in 10.3.x. Unfortunately, Apple changed that behavior in 10.4.x. I don't know of a way to change it.
